Data: brands spending 500% more marketing to Millennials than all other demographics put together

New data has come out which shows that brands are now spending 500% more on marketing to millennials than on all other demographics combined. The new stats as published in Ad Week are from adtech brand Turn which has published this infographic that delves into the millennial marketing space. Social media commands 400% more of a focus on millennials, and video 600%, and all this echoes with our work at Battenhall too. Check out the research in full here.

New ComScore social media user trends report

The global media company ComScore has published a new report looking at media consumption habits and it is is well worth a read. It breaks down social media and youth / millennials differences to other age brackets and media types. Fresh data like this doesn't come about too often, so although it's US-specific it's good to see as a barometer.

All the trends you would expect are in there: Facebook's smaller audience with the youth demographic, Snapchat and Instagram's larger audience with that same group, and the growth of mobile. You can download the report in full here.

Snapchat has made a careful mark on all our mobile devices, the service. As of June 2013 18.9% of iPhone users in the USA were using SnapChat regularly. By now you're probably on one of two sides, the sending or receiving end. To distinguish some of the more common traits of an avid SnapChat user, the Battenhall team has defined seven stereotypes of the SnapChat world.
