This is a post about how Battenhall works. We are now three years old, and throughout our time building up this business we have tried to foster a new way of working that I felt when we launched better fits the social media age in which we live. The good news is that our model is flourishing. And the single question I get asked the most about what we do at Battenhall is: "but how does it work in reality?" So I wrote this post to explain a little.
The press is beginning to report that Facebook at Work has now been launched, albeit to a select group of companies as a test. Expected to be used as alternative to messaging and information sharing systems such as Yammer, Dropbox, Google Hangouts, Skype and so on, the service will benefit from being part of Facebook's existing 1.35bn global user base. The Facebook at Work app, called simply Work, according to TechCrunch, is reportedly in iOS and Android app stores.
Internal communications is becoming a more complex practice especially in large global organisations, as social media disrupts the traditional communications lines between colleagues. Facebook's launch, whether the product succeeds ultimately or not, will give this space a new year's kick up the proverbial for sure.
We expect more details will follow from Facebook over coming weeks. Stay tuned.
